Tucson a home to the University of Arizona with a crime rate 69% above the national average. Despite decreasing trends a shocking 2022 case involving the kidnapping and killing of two girls highlighted ongoing challenges.
Tempe known for its vibrant scene struggles with a crime rate 73% higher than the U.S. average driven by gang activities. In 2022 the city recorded 1,152 violent crimes and 7,672 property crimes.
Although relatively safe for its size contends with a crime rate 61% higher than the national average. Persistent gang violence and notorious crimes such as those committed by serial killer Mark Goudeau, contribute to the challenges.
Holbrook a tourist destination near Route 66 reports the second-highest burglary rate in Arizona. With an overall crime rate 204% higher than the national average residents face a 1 in 15 chance of encountering crime.
Winslow stands as the fourth most dangerous city in Arizona with a crime rate 107% higher than the U.S. average resulting in a 1 in 21 chance of residents being victimized.
Despite its beauty with a crime rate 106% above the national average including the highest incidences of rape in Arizona, emphasizing the need for vigilance and safety precautions.
Globe faces a high crime rate due to economic challenges standing at 254% above the national average. Residents in Globe have a 1 in 9 chance of becoming victims.
Being a bustling business hub holds the unfortunate title of Arizona’s most dangerous city with a crime rate 470% above the national average. A tragic murder-suicide in 2016 highlighted the need for increased Mental Health support in the area.
