A Financial Advisor, Wealth Advisor, and Exit Planning Advisor walk into a bar….
Okay, just kidding on the bar part.
When working with multiple advisors, it’s important that each one knows their part and stays in their lane. Here’s how to work together best:
Meet in advance and agree upon who is playing what role in the process
Sit around the owner but don’t gang up. Everyone is important.
Ask initial questions to ensure we’re addressing the right pain
Take copious notes to show your interest
Discuss the roles with the owner and who solves what pain.
Speak clearly and don’t ramble. Keep it simple.
Don’t speak over one another. Your time will come.
Confirm next steps, action items, and deliverables with owner
Regroup after the meeting and assess.
I had the pleasure of being part of this process this week. It worked very well and everyone felt great about the meeting and the outcome, especially the owner.
You don’t have to work for the same company to be a part of a great team.
You just need to have a common vision -> what’s best for the client.
