Like when you’re talking to your kids or how we want to speak to ourselves now, like our inner child who really just needs us to validate them, you just need to, to tell that person, like they are inherently good enough. Like you’re not just good enough because you are a doctor and you’re not just good enough because you did 10 lap coleys. You are good enough and nowhere in our medical training system has anyone ever told us that we’re good enough. Oh, you got into medical school. Well, so did a bunch of other people, and you probably just fail out, and then we’ll just replace you with somebody else who deserves to be here.” —Dr. Busse

Sapna Shah-Haque Internal Medicine Physician

Dr. Sapna Shah-Haque, MD is a board certified Internal Medicine physician. She was born and raised in Kansas, and attended medical school at the University of Kansas [KU] School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at KU-Wichita as well. After experiencing burnout herself, and watching other physician colleagues burn out, it became a passion of hers to look into different aspects of burnout. While the system does need to change, as it is broken, this podcast is a way to reach physicians and possibly shed light on what is not an isolated situation.
