Colin also encourages people to work from the inside out. That means acknowledging the fears, beliefs and emotional roadblocks that may be standing in the way of pursuing a new path.
Leslie believes seasoned citizens have a responsibility to speak honestly about the aging process, not just so they can live authentically, but so younger generations can prepare for it with hope rather than fear.
“Once you get past the embarrassment and personal pride, your story can truly help somebody else,” she explained. “You didn’t go through all that pain for no reason. God can use it.”
“There is much more to life. Everyone, regardless of their age, background or ability, can live consciously and contribute to the greater good.”
“You have wisdom, perspective and something to offer. So ask yourself, ‘How can I make my future bigger than my past?’ That question alone can open new doors.”
