January 29th, 2024

Football isn’t the main thing that makes the Super Bowl invigorating — so do the notices. One thing is sure about Super Bowl ads: celebs capture everyone’s attention. With a large number of Top-notch big names loaning their star capacity to the business breaks in 2024, the example endured.   Star-Studded Commercials This year, well-known brands supporting everything from premium automobiles to soft drinks were on display for viewers to enjoy. Among the prominent ones was, in all honesty, Dwayne “The Stone” Johnson, who created a ruckus when he appeared in a diverting ad for another... Continue Reading

Kerfluffles! &Raquo; Pauladtozer

Each day when I wake up on this side of the grass I search for something colored beautiful with which to decorate my day. I’ve never been disappointed. I highly recommend this practice. It has saved many of my opportunities from circling the bowl. Today entrepreneur, author, podcaster, and motivational speaker Ed Mylett shared the good stuff. Maybe you self-sabotage because it allows you to predict the future, to feel like you’re in control. Ed Mylett Great thinkers, speakers, and writers offer us a perspective about ourselves in a way that we may have never thought of before. Ed got... Continue Reading

Cowboys’ Playoff Failures By The Numbers Since Last Nfc Title Game Appearance &Raquo; Images 19527276639043044134

It’s been a long time since the Dallas Ranchers beat Brett Favre and the Green Cove Packers, 38-27, in the 1995 NFC Title Game, prior to beating Bill Cowher’s Pittsburgh Steelers, 27-17, in Super Bowl XXX. That was Dallas’ last appearance in a conference championship game. You’d be unable to find a more disheartening season finisher stretch for any establishment than the Cowpokes’ throughout this time. America’s Team Playoff Agony: 13 Exits, Including a Stunning Loss to the Packers – A Number and Fact for Each Heartbreak They’ve persevered through 13 season finisher exits from... Continue Reading

Paying it forward
August 11th, 2023

Those who are good at what they do, writers, speakers, teachers, elite athletes and others have an obligation to others. Providing leadership to youngsters in areas beyond their area of expertise is another way to pay it forward. Paying it forward refers to the practice of doing good deeds for others, with the hope that they will pass on kindness to others. When elite athletes, writers, scholars, and artists share their knowledge and experiences with younger people, they are giving back to the community and helping to inspire and motivate the next generation. By providing leadership and mentoring... Continue Reading

Facts And Figures For Thanksgiving 2022 &Raquo; 6A00E550081576883402Af14852C07200C 320Wi

This year at Thanksgiving, I’m thinking about my mom and dad. They met on a wheat ranch during the Great Depression and had virtually nothing with which to start their married lives. When I was married in the 1960s, my former husband and I also had nothing. However, we did get college degrees. I’m thankful for the careers I’ve had as a result that first college experience and several others including a master’s degree. This year for Thanksgiving, the average person’s spending over the five-day Thanksgiving period is estimated to be $301, with 97 percent of Americans planning to celebrate... Continue Reading

Goalsetter Recalls Wall-Mounted Basketball Hoop Four Years After Teen’s Death &Raquo; 6A00E550081576883402Af1C8E3Eb5200D 320Wi

Recalls were in the news last week more than usual. Italian pork sausage contaminated with thin blue rubber. Catastrophic engine failure on some Ford Broncos. Pine-Sol cleaners that may contain bacteria. Nearly every vehicle Rivian has produced this year. I picked out a wall-mounted basketball hoop to write about because it caused the death of a teen. Goalsetter is recalling about 18,000 Goalsetter wall-mounted basketball goals. The basketball goal can unexpectedly detach from the wall and fall to the ground, posing a serious impact injury hazard and risk of death to consumers. A 14-year-old... Continue Reading

Life Lessons Learned From Playing Sports &Raquo; Sharkie6

Growing up I always knew that I was different.  I had interests that were obviously not common for a young girl at the time.  Instead of playing with dolls, I wanted to play with balls, and loved getting sweaty and dirty. My favorite sport was volleyball and I remember spending summers running up and down the beaches to see if anyone would let me on the court. Sometimes the people were nice and let me play a game with them. Others, would either ignore me or laugh and tell me to go away. I never had any big aspirations until I saw the 1968 National Women’s Volleyball team playing in an exhibition... Continue Reading

Youth Sports Are For The Kids &Raquo; Sharkie7

A while back I vividly remember a youth volleyball tournament and observing a match between two very good 10 year- old teams when the parents started behaving badly. It was just a battle, going back and forth. After it was over, the parents were still yelling at the coaches, officials and other parents.  Meanwhile, the kids from both teams went outside to play some kind of circle game, and they were all laughing and having fun. I was thinking, Oh, my gosh, who are the grownups, and who are the kids? Welcome to the world of youth sports where sometimes the parents are more immature than the kids. I... Continue Reading
