Vote for Untested in the Signal Awards

  1. Vote for Untested in the Signal Awards USA TODAY 2:35

USA TODAY’s “Untested” podcast has been recognized as a finalist for best true-crime limited series in the 2025 Signal Awards. Plus, you have a chance to help us take home the Listener’s Choice Award. Please cast your vote for Untested by Oct. 9 at: https://vote.signalaward.com/PublicVoting#/2025/limited-series-specials/genre/true-crime

As much as the Untested team appreciates your support, we know it’s not really about us. A vote for the show means you appreciate the rape survivors who were brave enough to share what happened to them. It means you want to take away the stigma from talking about rape. It means you recognize the value in sharing the stories of detectives who really care about victims and put in the effort to investigate sex crimes the right way. And, it shows USA TODAY you value deeply reported podcasts like Untested.

Thanks for your support!

Gina Barton reporter/podcast host

Her reporting on lax oversight of police officers and deaths in police custody helped prompt a first-of-its-kind state law that requires independent investigations of all officer-involved deaths. Gina is the reporter, producer and host of the national Edward R. Murrow Award-winning podcast Unsolved and the author of the true crime book Fatal Identity. She has won numerous national journalism awards, including the George A. Polk Award, an IRE certificate and a Casey Medal.
