- Anger Hatred Dying and a Peaceful Mind with Lama Ahbay Rinpoche Sam Liebowitz 1:01:09
This week, on The Conscious Consultant Hour, Sam welcomes back to the show the venerable Lama Ahbay Tulku Jigme Thupten Tendar Rinpoche.
Lama Ahbay Rinpoche was born in Darjeeling, India, in 1973. When he was 9 years old, he was fully initiated into monkhood. The tutor of His Holiness theDalai Lama, His Eminence the Khabche Ling Rinpoche, gave him vows and the name Thupten Tendar.
When he was 12, His Holiness the Dalai Lama identified him as the reincarnation of the hermit Lama Ahbay Lobsang Tenzin Rinpoche, who lived in a cave and was famous for his supernatural powers.
At present, Lama Ahbay Jigme Thupten Tendar Rinpoche has full responsibility of the Yega Choling Monastery and its monks. Sam and Lama Ahbay Rinpoche will discuss Anger and Hatred, Dying, and making a Peaceful Mind.
Lama Ahbay Rinpoche talks about peace and dealing with death. Peace comes from within.
What you put out and what you get back. Karma is real.
There are 3 types of karmas: body, mind, and speech.
There are 6 consciousnesses: Hearing, smell, taste, touch, feeling and the mind.
Ahbay says to change a belief, is merely the perspective.
“A positive mind brings us peace.”- Ahbay Rinpoche.
Sam told a story about an elderly black woman who was verbally attacked by a younger white man because she was Moving slower than others.
He reached out to her to share some words of compassion and to let her know that the man outburst had nothing to do with her and everything to do with him.
Kind words can mean so much to someone and you would never know.
Karma may not happen in this life but it will come back in the next.
