Thank you to everyone who watched yesterday’s video and reached out and more importantly asked how they could help.
The most interesting question was, "How did the OVA start and what do they do?" This is as good as time as any to let people know the critical role the Office of the Veteran Advocate performs for Veterans in Massachusetts.
I will be doing more of these and replaying the show I did with Robert "Bob" Notch about the Office of the Veteran Advocate.
You can reach out to your local State Representative and Senator and let your voice be heard.
Thank you to everyone who watched yesterday’s video, reached out, and most importantly, asked, "How can I help?"
One of the questions I heard most was, "How did the Office of the Veteran Advocate start, and what do they actually do?"
The answer matters.
The Massachusetts Office of the Veteran Advocate was created to ensure veterans have an independent voice inside state government. The OVA is an office dedicated to accountability, oversight, and making sure veterans and their families are heard when systems fail them.
The OVA exists because Massachusetts learned difficult lessons and made a commitment that veterans would never again be left without an advocate who would fight solely for their interests.
Over the coming days, I’ll be sharing more information about the work the OVA does and replaying my conversation with Veteran Advocate Robert "Bob" Notch to help people better understand why this office matters.
Now is the time to make your voice heard.
1. Contact your State Representative and State Senator.
2. Tell them you support full funding for the Massachusetts Office of the Veteran Advocate.
🇺🇸 Ask them to stand with the veterans of the Commonwealth and protect this first-in-the-nation office.
Veterans answered the call when our country needed them.
Today, the Commonwealth’s veterans need us to answer theirs.
