"Your English sucks, but I like your energy." A radio manager said it to this week’s guest, Lirone Glikman, and it sent me back 25 years to the first big tech conference I ever went to.
In this solo episode, I tell you about Java One in San Francisco, standing at the top of a huge escalator looking down at thousands of engineers, mostly men, and being completely terrified. As a quiet, introverted woman, I thought something was wrong with me. It took years to learn the truth: you don’t change who you are, you recognize what you bring.
I share why I almost never started this podcast, a recent moment in a room of far more experienced coaches, and a simple question to ask yourself when something is holding you back.
