Kenny Wayne Shepherd joins Boomerocity for a deep dive into the 30th anniversary of Ledbetter Heights, the album that transformed an 18-year-old guitarist into one of the biggest names in modern blues-rock.
We discuss the creation of the album, its surprising rise to success, the upcoming anniversary tour, the influence of Lead Belly and traditional blues, and how Shepherd has continued to evolve as an artist over the past three decades.
Whether you’re a longtime fan or discovering his music for the first time, this conversation offers a fascinating look at one of blues-rock’s most respected performers.
Launched in 2009, Randy Patterson’s Boomerocity has hundreds of positive, sincere, one-on-one interview conversations that show fans the true heart of the Baby Boomer generation of musicians, entertainers, and their associates, as well as today’s icons, influencers, and up-and-comers in music.
Randy’s first “interview” was a “chance” meeting with Col. Tom Parker (Elvis’s legendary manager) in 1973. It was the first concert Randy ever attended. He was just thirteen years old. Many years later when Randy launched Boomerocity, he interviewed several of the musicians who were on that stage with Elvis.
Boomerocity focuses on the entertainment interests of baby boomers as well as shares some thoughts and lessons learned that we sometimes need to be reminded of.
Randy does this work that he loves in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee.
