Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Scotland-based Jazz Vocalist, Saxophonist & Flautist Kimberley Tessa. She joins us to talk about her debut 2025 release Feel Alright / How It Feels and her journey in music so far.

Winner of the Scottish Jazz Awards Rising Star, Kimberley wrote much of this album at the piano during her late teens. The record is a jazz exploration of Love and emotional conflict, drawing inspiration from the voices of Amy Winehouse, Billie Holiday, and Ella Fitzgerald. Blending soulful melodies with shifting grooves, the music flows from raw vulnerability to a bold, Latin-inspired finale.

We dig into her artistry, her career beginnings, and what lies ahead in this heartfelt conversation from the heart of Scotland.
