On this ninth album as a leader, Markus follows his recent projects Storybook (2023) and Penumbra (2024), delivering a collection of small group recordings with top contemporaries from the Chicago scene.

Known for his bluesy, soulful trumpet sound and exquisite tone, Markus continues to carve out a distinct voice in modern jazz while paying homage to its timeless traditions. It’s a most excellent story. Tune in.
