A Note to the Reader: If you find the following content provocative, consider this: it was designed to activate our epigenetic conditioning, yours and mine—to expose it—for your consideration. If your immediate response is a flare-up of defensive tribalism or a sudden urge to protect the Sacred, I invite you to stop, if just for a moment. Observe the librarian in your own mind rushing to lock the doors.
This is not just a post; it is a mirror. Consider the source of your outrage—is it yours, or is it the echo of a pastor you never met, speaking through your DNA?

The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real.
— C.G. Jung
I’ve been reflecting on a recent video by Chase Hughes, where he dismantles the mechanics of social media—how it’s meticulously designed to manipulate and coerce, keeping us tethered through spectacle and bait-and-switch tactics.
As I watched, I realized something. This isn’t a new invention.
It’s an evolution.
I’d offer this as cuisine for further contemplation: those currently “in charge” of our digital attention are simply perfected practitioners of what religion has done for centuries.
Religion is a well-rehearsed system that creates deep grooves in the human brain, reinforced through eons of conditioning. When you consider this from an epigenetic perspective, the entire structure falls into place.
Our Biological Software
Think of your DNA as the hardware—the library of every book ever written. Epigenetics is the librarian who decides which books you’re allowed to open and which are locked in the basement.
For centuries, a powerful class of humans has used relentless, fear-based Trauma to act as that librarian. As a result, this trauma has placed chemical “post-it notes“—methyl groups—onto our genetic code like redaction marks on a sacred text. These tags don’t change the underlying DNA, but they act as a forced filter, dictating exactly which truths your mind is permitted to see and which are blurred into incomprehension.
By keeping the masses in a state of perpetual spiritual or social terror, they’ve effectively locked the doors to Agency and Rebellion, while leaving the books on Submission and Fear permanently open on the desk.
Designer Humans
We are, at our core, mammals, but we’ve come to believe we are not like other mammals. This is the first “tell.” We are deceiving ourselves.
Modern humans are the descendants of those who were “quiet” enough to survive the Inquisition and the Crusades.
Much like dogs are bred for specific traits—docility, herding instincts, or aggression—this ancient epigenetic librarian, commanded by those who’ve established the traditional protocols, ensures we stay on script.
We are designer humans, domesticated to thrive within a hierarchy because our biological switches have been flipped to “Obey/Submit mode” for generations.
Seeing systems as conspiracies is part of this coercive conditioning. It’s become second nature. When you see yourself as having a different ideology (religion) than others, you distrust them. You band together with others of like mind in your distrust. Over time, that mistrust turns to contempt, and contempt to hate. With this base in mind, you can’t trust anyone or anything unfamiliar.
Through this lens, it’s easy to observe how conspiracy theories evolve. It’s a case of the suspicious identifying a worthy cause. How can you be chosen if everyone is chosen? How can you be righteous if everyone is righteous?
The Divine Self-Deception
The leaders of these systems operate through a profound self-deception. Having been anointed in the public forums reserved for the privileged, they come to believe they are above human law—and even above the laws of the very sky/man/god they claim to worship.
The tell here? Their absolute certainty. Each leader believes they were specifically chosen and their version is the only true religion. They profess to be on the right side of their god and prove it by allowing unfamiliar “others” to be killed for that profession.
However, the deception goes deeper. They aren’t just lying to the unwashed masses; they have successfully lied to themselves to maintain the internal state required to operate the machinery of control. They’ve become Familiars in-deed.
The Digital Succubus
Today, the pulpit has been replaced by the news feed, but the objective remains the same:
A seamless transition from pulpit to pasture, effectively delivered by a new kind of pastor—the algorithm. This digital succubus strips us of our humanity, harvesting our attention as the meat, bones, and sinew of the modern Economy. It creates millions of willing victims, ready to sacrifice their cognitive sovereignty as they enjoy the privilege of grazing on the altar their fellowship captors have built.
A pastor doesn’t guide the sheep for the sheep’s benefit; he guides them because the wool and the meat belong to his master.
To the owners, we are livestock, as Hughes states. Designed for the slaughterhouse.
Feeder animals.
The Act of Rebellion
So, why don’t we just Love IT?
What’s not to love?
The answer lies in a deliberate act of biological deconstruction. Understanding how we are manipulated allows us to extricate ourselves. It takes immense courage to systematically dismantle the machine that holds you captive to a tribe or a religious perspective, but the human species can access that courage.
We must make a stand for personal agency. To stand up as one who has chosen to no longer be submissive to systems that are not worthy of our loyalty or love.
If a system serves as a substitute for compassion—if it demands “peace at any price”—it is not worthy of you.
Step away from the pasture. The truth has been hiding in plain sight: you only remain livestock as long as you accept the conditioning.
Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves. – CG Jung
