High on Life (Even When It’s Hard) with Lorie Kleiner Eckert

  1. High on Life (Even When It’s Hard) with Lorie Kleiner Eckert Boom With A Bang! 1:09:14

What if midlife isn’t about dramatic reinvention — but about noticing the Wisdom tucked inside ordinary moments? In this conversation, Lorie shares stories from her book Chai on Life — from belly fat to Billy Joel — and reminds us that life may be difficult, but we can handle it.

In this episode, we explore:

  • Why personal reinvention doesn’t require a dramatic overhaul

  • The “one action a day” accountability log

  • Moving from “horrible” to “handsome” in the mirror

  • How to invite connection when loneliness creeps in

  • Forgiveness — including forgiving yourself

  • Why your life stories matter more than you think

Midlife may be full of transitions — but perhaps the joy really is in the journey.

I’ve probably done most of the things you expect a woman my age to have done: married and divorced; three children; variety of jobs over the years including a couple of home-based businesses and, finally, a pretty good career; gave up that career (and home and life) to move and take care of a dementing mother; adult daughter moved back home with a baby; financial struggles; sucker-punched by the post-2007 economy. You tell a similar story.

My podcast is for Boomer Women. A variety of subjects, a variety of viewpoints... and open to suggestions if I'm not covering a topic you want to hear about.
