So, Why Should I Forgive?

As we grow older, life naturally accumulates its share of
painful experiences. Some of us carry wounds caused by others, words that hurt,
betrayals that shocked, or actions that left deep emotional scars. When someone
wrongs us, it’s only human to feel anger, disappointment, or even Grief. But
what happens when those feelings linger for months, even years?

Forgiveness isn’t about minimizing the hurt or pretending
nothing happened. And no, it’s not about letting someone “off the hook.” The
simple truth is you forgive for you.

Not because they asked for it. Not because they apologized.
Not even because they deserve it. But because you deserve peace. You
deserve joy. And you deserve to live the rest of your life free from the
chains of bitterness, pain, and emotional fatigue.

Forgiveness isn’t a gift to them; it’s a gift to
yourself.
It’s the decision to no longer allow someone else’s actions to
steal your present or shape your future.

Reflect on one hurt you’ve held onto. Ask yourself: Is
this pain still serving me? Or is it time to let it go, for my own sake?
