Introducing NHNH-Review Of Drew Hands Free Shoes

Gifted by Drew Shoes

I’m always on the lookout for innovative solutions that blend style with practicality. Today, it’s all about hands-free shoes! One of the details I wanted to focus on with this review of Drew hands hands-free shoes was that the sneakers could be worn for various occasions including dog walking, working out, and running errands.
Specifically, this review is about Drew’s Explore sneakers for men and Halo sneakers for women.

Quote of the day: “If you dig a hole and it’s in the wrong place, digging it deeper isn’t going to help.” Seymour Chwast

I like this quote because many older adults have issues with their feet and thus finding shoes that feel good let alone look good is a struggle.
But the problem may lie in the fact that we continuously buy the same type or same brand of shoes instead of ones that help our issues.

I don’t know if you’ve tried hands-free sneakers yet but they are brilliant. They are designed to offer both convenience and comfort in a fashionable way. I’ve always believed that your footwear should work with your Lifestyle, not against it, and Drew’s latest creations seem to do just that.

Let’s break down our experience with both the Explore and Halo sneakers, so you can decide if they’re the right fit (pun intended!) for you or someone in your life.

This isn’t the first time both my husband and I have talked about Drew brand shoes.
Last year we reviewed other sneakers that had incredible support.

What Exactly Are Hands-Free Shoes?

First, if you’re wondering what “NHNH or hands-free” shoes even mean, let me explain. NHNH is short for No Hands, No Hassle.

Insider tip: I have been given a discount code for my readers. STYLE10 which is good for 10% off orders over $100.

Hands-free shoes are designed for those moments when you need to get out the door without even bending down to slip your feet into your shoes. The idea is that you can step into them, and they’ll automatically adjust and secure around your foot without needing to use your hands—how cool is that?

Drew has taken this concept to the next level with their hands-free Technology in the Explore for men and Halo for women. They’ve made shoes that work for you, providing both support and ease in one sleek package.

Insider tip: There are other options for hands-free shoes on Drew’s site if you want a different design.

The reason I know about the brand, Drew shoes is because my contact from working with Walking Cradles now works for Drew and their sister company, Ros Hommerson.
I continue to support the brand because it caters to people who want comfort with their shoes. And as an older woman, I have learned how important this is to my health.

Review of Drew Hands Free Shoes for Men

Explore Sneaker for Men with input from Rob. Drew shoes also have the Echo version that is NHNH.

First Impressions

When Rob first looked at the Explore sneaker for men, it was the fabulous blue color that caught his eye (although it comes in other colors also). It’s stylish in a low-key, everyday kind of way, which is exactly what most men I know are looking for. There’s nothing overly flashy, yet it feels modern and functional.

The material has a premium feel with breathable mesh that’s lightweight and adaptable. For men who are constantly on the go, whether it’s running errands or working out, the Explore sneaker fits into any lifestyle seamlessly.

Style Points For Drew Hands Free Shoes

Comfort and Fit

My husband, who’s become quite picky with his shoe choices, first tried them out, and he was impressed with how easy it was to slip them on. No bending down, no pulling up the back of the shoe. He just stepped in, and the shoe did the rest.

Let’s talk about these sneakers in action. Many times I walk behind Rob when we walk Piper, and I have noticed some of his other sneakers allow his foot to pronate. Not these.
That’s one of the details in this review of Drew hands-free shoes that is important…the function and support.

The Explore’s insole is another standout feature. Like many Drew shoes, it includes their signature Plus Fitting System with Walk Right Technology, which offers two insoles that provide extra depth if needed. If not, one of the inserts can be removed. The shoes also accommodate custom orthotics, if necessary.

This makes the sneaker perfect for men who may have foot issues like plantar fasciitis, flat feet, or other common discomforts. My husband mentioned that it felt supportive but not too stiff, with just the right amount of cushioning. And thanks to the wide toe box, his feet didn’t feel cramped even after a full day of wear.

Sizing: Rob ordered a 9M which is his usual size. The fit was perfect.

Style Points

While the Explore sneaker is definitely functional, I was pleasantly surprised by how versatile it is style-wise. It’s the kind of shoe you can wear with anything—jeans, joggers, even slightly dressier slacks. The minimalist design makes it adaptable to any wardrobe, and for men who value practicality above all, this sneaker strikes the perfect balance between utility and style.

Review of Drew Hands Free Shoes for Women

The Halo Sneaker for Women as told by Jodie. The Bandit is the other NHNH design for women.

First Impressions

For women, Drew has designed the Halo sneaker, and I couldn’t wait to try it. At first glance, the Halo sneaker is fabulous without being too old ladyish. I opted for a fun color, but Drew offers a range of shades, so you can find one that complements your personal style.

Confession: I try to make all of my sneakers hands-free, meaning I refuse to tie and untie them after the first time. While this is hard on my shoes, it’s one of the reasons I LOVE the idea of NHNH sneakers.

The Halo shares many of the same technological features as the Explore sneaker that Rob wore.

Womans Review Of Drew Hands Free Shoes

Comfort and Fit

Like the Explore, the Halo sneaker comes with the Plus Fitting System for customizable comfort, but what really impressed me was how it hugs your foot in all the right places. The shoes are lightweight yet sturdy, and slipping into them felt like a dream. The back of the shoe easily flexes to accommodate your foot, but then secures snugly once you’re in. No tugging or pulling is necessary—it’s as if the shoe was designed just for you!

For me, one of the key tests of any shoe is how it holds up after a day of walking, and the Halo passed with flying colors. The arch support was just right, and the cushioning kept my feet from feeling tired, even after hours of having them on. Whether you’re walking the dog, or running errands, the Halo sneaker ensures you’ll feel as good at the end of the day as you did at the start.

Sizing: I ordered a 7.5 M even though I have been measured as a 7M in the past. I knew that I would be wearing these with thick socks once the weather got colder. The fit felt fabulous.

Style Points

The Halo sneaker isn’t just practical; it’s stylish too. The streamlined design pairs well with almost anything in my closet. If you’re a woman who loves versatility (and who doesn’t?), the Halo sneaker will become your go-to shoe for just about any occasion.

Standout Features of Both Shoes

Even though both pairs of sneakers have their differences, they are also similar in some of their features:

  • Hands-Free Functionality: No bending, pulling, or adjusting. Just step in, and you’re ready to go.
  • Breathable Mesh Material: Keeps your feet cool and comfortable, even during extended wear.
  • Plus Fitting System: Two removable insoles allow for extra depth making these sneakers orthotic-friendly.
  • Lightweight Design: Despite offering full support, both shoes feel incredibly light on the feet.
  • Versatile Style: Whether you’re dressing up or down, these shoes fit into almost any outfit.
  • Insoles: Use one or both of the insoles included with the shoe or remove them to accommodate prescribed orthotics.

Insider tip: The laces self-adjust, but if you want them tighter, simply unscrew the toggle, pull the knotted end out, and reknot it to the length that works for you. Then trim the excess, pull back into the toggle end, and screw the ends back together.
Both pairs come with an extra insole that can be added under the existing insole for extra padding. The men’s is already inserted in the shoe, while the women’s is in the box and can be added if needed

Who Are These Shoes For?

Drew’s Explore and Halo sneakers are ideal for anyone looking to simplify their footwear routine without sacrificing style or comfort. They’re particularly great for people with mobility issues, those who need orthotics, or just anyone who values convenience. And let’s be real—who wouldn’t love a shoe that does half the work for you?

Insider tip: These are ideal for anyone having hip or knee surgery where it is hard to bend down and put on shoes.

Final Thoughts

Drew’s hands-free Explore and Halo sneakers are game-changers when it comes to everyday comfort and style. They combine Innovation with thoughtful design, making them perfect for both men and women who want to step into their day with ease—literally.

If you’ve ever found yourself frustrated with fiddly laces or tight slip-ons, give these hands-free sneakers a try. Trust me, your feet (and your schedule) will thank you!

Facts: Both Rob and I were gifted these Drew sneakers for the review of the Drew hands-free shoes article only. I have been given a discount code (STYLE10) to share with my readers but I do not get any commission on your purchases. My goal in supporting this company is to share brands that fit our needs and help each other.
