Daily Looks: Week Ending 8.16.24

One of the best things about returning from vacation is the chance to wear more variety of clothing. Traveling is the only time I embrace a capsule wardrobe.

I think you would enjoy it if you signed up for the emails below. Besides the free eBook, my email family gets personal tidbits of what’s going on in my life along with other happenings, sales, information, giveaways, extra photos, and interesting articles.

Saturday

Shorts: Old Navy~~Top: English Factory-Your Revolving Closet~~Sandals: Cambriani

This was our first day back from vacation, so there was a ton of laundry, grocery shopping and unpacking to do.

This pair of shorts was from Old Navy, when they were having a huge sale in store, so they were $3. I like that they are from the girl’s section, so they have that adjustable waistband on the inside. I don’t know why all women’s pants don’t have that.

This flowy top is from Your Revolving Closet and perfect for the heat. It is light and airy and very pretty.

I wore my Cambriani sandals again even though I wore them lots over vacation because this tan embroidered strap was delivered when we were gone. So I wanted to try it out since I ordered it in a larger size.

I’m also wearing a new pair of eyeglasses from Caddis. These are NOT budget-oriented, but the brand sent them to me, and I thought it would be interesting to compare them to my budget online glasses.

The flower straw earrings were a deal on Amazon and I’m sporting a delicate necklace.

Sunday

Skirt: Tobi ~~Top: English Factory-Your Revolving Closet~~Sandals: Secra c/o

Today, we weren’t leaving the house, so I felt brave enough to wear this top. I have to admit that many times throughout the day, I could feel a nice breeze coming in the cutouts.

Since the top was trimmed in black, I wore a black skirt with it. This black skirt is ages old, and I’ve worn it when talking about modestly wearing a short skirt. Obviously modesty went out the window today, haha.

I wore some black sandals and continued to wear my new eyeglasses.

Monday

Pants: LOFT-Goodwill~~Cami: Express-Your Revolving Closet~~Shoes:

Today we are off to the bank to take care of some business, and as such, I am using my outfit as a tool to look more professional and serious.

I’m sure it will be chilly in the bank, so I wore my thrifted LOFT suit. At home, I left off the blazer and added one of my tassels instead of a belt.

The shoes are from my working days, and maybe a bit too dark for the outfit. I changed them after seeing these photos to a tan and brown pair.

The orange toppers on my eyeglasses are a nod to whimsy.

Tuesday

Dress: Banana Republic~~Sneakers: Converse-thrifted

I wanted to wear this dress but remembered that we had Tai Chi today. So what I did was wear my Tai Chi outfit under it.

That navy scalloping under the dress? That’s my sports bra/shirt and it works even better than a normal bra because it’s a racerback style so it doesn’t peek out of the strappy area.

Then I’m wearing my workout shorts under the dress.

All I have to do is take off the dress (it’s a wrap dress, so easy peasy) and put on my sweatshirt, and I’m good to go.

These Converse sneakers are a great sneaker to pair with dresses. I started off wearing a pair of sandals, but since the dress was so short, I felt too exposed. And since I would have to wear sneakers for Tai Chi, these worked marvelously.

Wednesday

Pants: Peach~~Top: No label-thrifted~~Sandals: Naot-won in giveaway

We had dog training today and I wanted to wear these black wide-leg pants that I’ve had for years. In fact, they were one of the first wide-leg pants that I showcased years ago.

I found this cropped top for $1 at a thrift store and it could be handmade because it doesn’t have a label.

I added a bling pin to the front of the top and wore one of Rob’s fedoras.

The sandals are Naot brand that I won in an IG giveaway years ago. The style is still available and they are truly comfy shoes. The brand is known for comfort and there is arch support in all of their shoes. I had a pair of sneakers from the brand too, but the arch was too big for me. The sandals are better for my feet.

Dress: By the River-Your Revolving Closet~~Sandals: Unisa-DSW

I am meeting another influencer in Scottsdale today because I won an IG giveaway from her. It’s the perfect time to wear a cute dress and this one was in my recent Your Revolving Closet box.

Insider detail: Your Revolving Closet is a clothing rental box that will include 2 items. You can have 2 boxes at home at one time, and then exchange for more clothes as soon as you’ve worn (or not) what’s in the box. That means you can wear 16 items from the company in one month.
THE BEST PART is that you get a 30-day free trial and it’s easy to cancel…no strings attached.
I never thought I’d be a fan, but it has helped curtail my shopping obsession.
I’ve written 2 articles about it. One when I first started using it, and then 6 months later.
It will only be available until the end of this year, so try it now!

You would laugh at how short the dress is on the model here. And I added two rings held in place with clear elastics to give the dress some shaping. That’s what the “buttons” are at my waist.

I wore yellow sandals and decorated the “v” with a pearl clip-on earring.
And yes, those are my hair extensions that I splurged on and talked about recently.

Friday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 8.16.24 &Raquo; Friday
Dress: Steinmart~~Sneakers: Cariuma

Here’s another outfit for being intentional after working out. We are heading to the gym this morning but then need to go to the grocery store afterwards.

I have a bright pink sports bra (which blends in nicely) and workout shorts under this dress.
The dress has been worn with a crochet belt and sandals for the past couple of years here and here.

This time I wore it with a belt that I made using decorative trim from the fabric store (I showed a photo of the clasp I bought in my email) and then Cariuma sneakers for the gym.

Insider tip: The Cariuma brand is known for being eco-conscious and sustainable. They are also very comfy. My experience is to size up half a size because I like some space in my sneakers. After you buy your first pair, they send surveys and discounts where you can save $30 on a pair. Which is why I (and my husband) have so many of them.

Thank you
