Deedee Divine’s Totally Skewed Guide To Life &Raquo; 130 Bbook Photo

I’ll admit up front that I was already a fan of author Diana Estill’s work after reading Driving on the Wrong Side of the Road, so I felt her second book would be a fun read. I wasn’t disappointed. I enjoyed Deedee Divine’s Totally Skewed Guide to Life so much that in two days—done.

This book is a collection of humorous essays about life as we know it; yet with Diana’s added humorous twist. Deedee Divine, the author’s alter ego, guides us through the maze of daily life with essays on subjects such as family, friends, the medical community, keeping the holidays “lite” (these are outrageously funny) dining out, and my fav, why women won’t read maps.

In this one, while driving around the Cayman Islands, her lost and frustrated hubby asked Deedee (the chosen map reader) which way; left or right. She replied with… “Just go toward the coastline….” Hubby (can’t you see him rolling his eyes?) said, “We’re on an island; there’s coastline in every direction.” She writes…some people will go to any length to “one-up you.” Her sarcasm is hilarious, non-toxic, on the mark, and just downright funny. It certainly wasn’t wasted on me.

I label this book OUT LOUD funny and can say with no qualms; you’re going to love it, too.

Diana/Deedee writes each chapter in very short vignettes which make it an easy read and a “take anywhere” book, and that is exactly what I did. Buy it, read it, keep it. The book will come in handy when you’re down and out in Beverly Hills and need a pick-me-up.
