Sixty, Sexy, Sassy and Free
Author Ann Fry gets serious about reinvention, tackling the how, the why, and the where. Where? How about energy-rich Manhattan? She had a good life in Austin, Texas: a lovely network of friends and a beautiful home, but it lacked excitement. Over the years, her work as a psychotherapist had taken her to New York for seminars and speaking engagements and she made a mental note to get to know the place better when given a chance. She decided to take that chance on the heels of her sixtieth birthday. Why? Well…why not. She had her health, no marital obligations, and a vision…and she wasn’t getting any younger. As for the ‘how,’ Fry did some planning and some praying, and then went along for the ride. Her results are in Sixty, Sexy, Sassy and Free.
Midlife reinvention is a hot topic these days; it’s always interesting to see how the mature woman goes about it. Some will ease themselves into ‘rebirth’ while others dive right in. Fry practices the latter, and it’s intriguing to watch the process: the unfolding of fresh ideas and Relationships. Embarking on change can be daunting, but Fry meets the challenge, all the while valuing experience and the Growth that accompanies it.
