On October 4, 2016 things got personal for me. At 50 years old, I was living the “American Dream.” I was a husband, father, and successful entrepreneur. And then I got the call that is every parent’s worst nightmare. Our oldest son, Seth Carnicle, had died of fentanyl poisoning. I soon realized I had two options. I could go down a road of anger and despair and become bitter, or I could use this as motivation to become better. I chose the road of better. On June 29, 2021 I lost my wife, Prudence, to alcoholism. This only further fueled my fire to make a difference and change the way we approach Mental Health and substance use disorders. While it isn’t always an easy journey, I wake up every day and choose, despite the challenges, to Live Undeterred. https://www.livingundeterred.com/
