60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday: It Made a Difference to This One! Big Benefits From Small Acts of Connection

  1. 60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday: It Made a Difference to This One! Big Benefits From Small Acts of Connection 3:05

Hello to you listening in Layton, New Jersey!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday and your host, Diane Wyzga.

They say that we are a disconnected society, culture, even world. What one small gift can we give to each other increase our connectedness with each other? What about a simple note of gratitude?

The other day I received this message entitled:

Here are a few words for your day.

As I try to push forward with the book, I hit speed bumps. Other things always seem to jump in the way. There are so many projects to be done at this house.

I see a long trail of work work work….

With little time for the important things I have set aside for decades.

So as I was leaving church this morning I went to open a podcast by a priest I’ve been listening to only to find that the site was gone from my phone. Instead, your podcast came up.

So I knew I was meant to listen.

There was a whole string of episodes, starting with the “divine messenger ” podcast. Going through David Crosby’s  wise words, and the special words or insight each person carries… with a few more to follow. Each had something important to say to me.

Thank you for unknowingly stepping up to bat on the Divine Team this morning.

People may not always stop to send you an email after being touched by one of your podcasts.

But I cannot help thinking that there are many of them out there.

What you do matters.

Like the starfish story: It made a difference to this one.

Practical Tip: When you feel your Connectedness waning, wondering if your work has benefit, send a simple note of gratitude to someone else to lift them up. To each and every one of you listening from where you are around the world, I’m here because you’re there. Thank you for our Connectedness.

And then because it felt fun and scary you did it again until you were streaking down a hill with the wind blowing in your face and your hands up over your head screaming, “Look ma! No hands!” That’s been the story of Diane's life. Showing up - maybe scared but not afraid - because when you fall down 7 you get up 8.
