Personal growth can mess with your head. You start Therapy or Coaching, read the books, join the men’s group, and suddenly it feels like everything is getting worse. That can spark the scary thought: was I better off before I did this personal growth stuff?
In this episode, I let you in on the real reason this happens using a practical blend of psychology and neuroscience. I also share “Dimitri's” story, about how he hit the wall, felt defeated, and learned that the “two steps back” feeling is often the exact moment the real change begins.
You'll get tools you can use right away will keep you going on your path to personal growth for yourself and your Relationships. Check out the Why Personal Growth Sometimes Feels Like You’re Going Backwards, episode.

Relationship Coach for Men, and Mind-Body Educator & Integrative Therapy Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in private and clinical practice. Before coaching, I spent over 30 years as a radio personality, including co-hosting a high-profile morning show in Philadelphia for over 10 years.
Seeking healthier ways to manage stress and live with greater intention, I immersed myself in personal and spiritual growth, opening a private practice in 2001. In 2015, I accepted a rare full-time clinical role at a major Philadelphia health center, where I've coached and supported hundreds of clients (80% women) and gained deep insight into what women want most in relationships—emotional presence, empathy, vulnerability, and trust. I've learned that is not the fault of men, it's just how we've been conditioned.
Having once struggled in relationships myself, including three divorces, I understand these challenges firsthand. After years of inner work, I've built a deeply fulfilling relationship with my wife. We've been together now for over 17 years and our marriage continues to thrive. Today, I am on a love mission to give men grace and to help them break old patterns/conditions, show up authentically, and create lasting, meaningful relationships. It's never too late for love!
