“Servant leadership is really rolling up your sleeves to be there for others.” — Jessper Maquindang

📝Description:
What if the biggest thing holding your business back isn't your strategy, your budget, or your competition — but four little words: “We've always done it that way.”

In this episode, Steve Ramona sits down with Jessper Maquindang — leadership consultant, master's-degreed leadership expert, and 10-year American Red Cross volunteer — to unpack what servant leadership actually looks like when you strip away the buzzwords. Spoiler: it starts with rolling up your sleeves and standing alongside your team, not in front of them.

In this conversation:

  • Why “alongside, not behind, not in front” is the real test of a servant leader
  • How Innovation directly fuels revenue — and why hierarchy quietly kills it
  • The purpose problem: what younger generations demand from the companies they work for
  • Simple (not easy) ways to unlock every team member's unique strengths
  • How a childhood dream at age five became a life built around Personal Development
  • The one question that reveals whether you're truly a leader: Who are you mentoring right now?

PS: Jessper has visited 49 of 50 states and run 14 marathons — with Alaska (and marathon #15) on deck this summer. His whole philosophy fits in one repeated phrase from this episode: just take the first step. Whether it's a book, a marathon, or a leadership breakthrough, that first step is the whole game.

Steve Ramona Doing Business with a Servant's Heart

Steve Ramona discovered his calling at a young age and is now on a mission to share his secret sauce for success. He thrives on forging meaningful connections, sharing referrals, and watching people flourish.

His contagious passion for the Law of Increase makes his podcast "Doing Business with a Servant's Heart" so successful. This show is chock-full of inspiring stories about overcoming challenges and serving others.

Steve has a knack for spreading good vibes and elevating those around him. He learned from his dad that the entrepreneurial spirit is a great way to make money. I can share stories of how people serve, struggle and win. We all must overcome something, so why not learn to serve and overcome it much faster? I learned early working in our Health Club the importance of customer service. I learned that the more I served it was a win-win for everyone. I enjoy working with people, referring people, and helping people grow. The Law of Increase is my mission when I network around the world.

I love to mentor business people and offer all the resources I have. To win, you must grow yourself first; then, you can share this with others! I am an avid reader and have built a large book directory on sharing with others.
