Maestro Fresh We is credited as the “Godfather of Canadian Hip Hop, ” his debut album, Symphony in Effect, was a certified platinum album. In 2023, Maestro Fresh Wes became the first hip-hop artist inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. His song Let Your Backbone Slide” is the first rap song inducted into the Canadian Songwriters’ Hall of Fame.
