Yes, the Market Is Correcting—What Now?
I’ve been receiving panicked calls about the current equity correction. Yes, several of the high-flying tech stocks (Magnificent 7) are down 6-14% this year, wiping out all gains since the November presidential election.
As I’ve shared in my newsletters and Meet the Expert podcast (available on our website and all major platforms), 2025 was always set to be a volatile year—largely due to a volatile president. I believe this is just the first of three corrections we’ll see this year. However, I also believe we’ll finish 2025 higher than where we started. That’s 100% my opinion, but history supports it.
So, what should you be doing as an investor?
- Long-term investors: Now is a great buying opportunity.
- Concerned investors: If you’re worried or your political outlook doesn’t align with the current administration, consider moving into our Income Model Portfolio—income products could perform well this year.
- IRA holders (10+ years from withdrawals): Market dips can present a smart opportunity for a Roth Conversion.
- Risk profile check: This volatility offers a chance to either be a contrarian and increase your risk or take a more conservative approach and decrease your risk. Neither choice is wrong—it depends on your long-term goals.
- Stay the course: Sometimes, the best move is to hunker down, ride out the volatility, and remember that over the last 1,000 years, equities have always gone up.
