From Bomb Disposal to Saving Lives | US Army Veteran Jeff Truex on Purpose, PTSD & Hope

LIVE • Tuesday, June 30, 2026 • 7:00 PM CST

This week, The ToosDay Crüe welcomes US Army Retired Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician Jeff Truex, a man whose mission didn’t end when he hung up the uniform.

Jeff served 23 years in the United States Army, including 17 years as an EOD Technician, one of the military’s most demanding and dangerous career fields.

After retiring in 2014, tragedy struck the EOD community when a fellow technician died by suicide. Instead of standing by, Jeff helped create After the Long Walk, an organization dedicated to preventing suicide, reducing stigma, and providing peer-to-peer support for the EOD community. Today, he serves as its President.

We’ll discuss:

Life in Army EOD
The transition from military service to civilian life
Mental Health and breaking the stigma
Veteran suicide prevention
Building stronger communities through peer support
Finding purpose after service

When he’s not advocating for veterans, Jeff enjoys riding his motorcycle, cooking outdoors, and somehow managing to keep his girlfriend’s chickens alive.

Join us for an inspiring conversation about resilience, service, healing, and hope.
