He founded Barkley Public Relations in 1987—growing it from a regional firm into a national leader in crisis management, influencer relations, and employee engagement. Mike also served as Global President of IPREX, a worldwide network of 100+ independent PR firms. His journey began in broadcast journalism, later becoming Press Secretary to Kansas Gov. John Carlin.
