Sports Fam, today we’re saddling up for a conversation about the incredible bond between humans and horses. For centuries, horses have carried us—literally and emotionally—and science now confirms what many of us have always felt: these powerful, peaceful animals can change lives.
That’s the mission at Camelot Therapeutic Horsemanship, an Arizona nonprofit that has been offering life-changing programs for children and adults with disabilities since 1983—all at no cost to participants. Camelot believes you can’t put a price on human dignity, and their raise-Money-first, spend-it-second philosophy has kept them debt-free for over four decades.
Each year, Camelot hosts Starry Knights, a fundraising gala under the desert sky, spotlighting the inspiring stories of two students. This year, those students are with us in the studio: Heidi Miller and Phil Simpson.
