NY-Times Best Selling Author & Award-Winning Sports Writer Jeffrey Pearlman

Welcome to a new edition of the Famous Interviews with Joe Dimino series. On this episode, we talk with NY-Times Best Selling Author & Award-Winning Sports Writer Jeffrey Pearlman.

We dive into his latest book, Only God Can Judge Me: The Many Lives of Tupac Shakur (out October 21, 2025), and his esteemed career as a journalist and writer. This is Jeff’s most nuanced subject yet — a definitive, deeply researched biography of Tupac Shakur, featuring nearly 700 original interviews and never-before-published details that bring new depth to one of pop culture’s most iconic figures.

Jeff’s writing journey began in a small town an hour north of Manhattan, moved through the University of Delaware, and eventually led him to Sports Illustrated, where he covered some of the biggest stories in sports history. Along the way, he chronicled the 1986 Miracle Mets, Bo Jackson, and countless others, cementing his reputation as one of America’s great storytellers.

This is a fascinating ride through a charmed career in sports and culture writing, and his bold new work on Tupac. Enjoy!
