How to Take Payments Online

The first rule of digital payments is simple: the more payment options you offer, the more revenue you’ll capture. Customers and clients want flexibility, whether paying with a credit card, ACH, or mobile wallet.

With NPSONE and ClickBillR, businesses can unlock multiple payment channels, including:

  • Credit card & ACH payment processing: Accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Amex, plus direct bank payments.

  • Recurring billing & subscriptions: Automate monthly, quarterly, or custom cycles.

  • QR code payment links: Perfect for invoices, printed materials, or in-person transactions.

  • Cashier-initiated payments: Allow staff to quickly initiate secure transactions.

  • Native payments: No clunky add-ons—fully integrated processing.

Key Considerations for Online Payment Processing

It’s not enough to know how to take payments online—you also need to consider the security, compliance, and operational impact. Here are the factors businesses should prioritize when choosing online payment solutions.

  1. Security

Data breaches and fraud are at an all-time high. NPSONE and ClickBillR use:

    • End-to-end encryption

    • Tokenization of sensitive cardholder data

    • Fraud detection tools to reduce chargebacks and disputes. This ensures customer information stays safe at every stage of the payment process.

  2. Compliance

Businesses must comply with multiple regulations:

    • PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard)

    • Nacha (for ACH transactions)

    • Regulation E (electronic funds transfers) NPSONE and ClickBillR are fully compliant, helping you avoid fines and reduce risk.

  3. Native Functionality vs. Plugins

Many businesses struggle with fragmented systems—separate tools for invoicing, payments, reporting, and compliance. Our platforms eliminate that complexity with native, built-in payments and reporting. No extra plugins. No hidden costs.

  4. Pricing Structure

Some software vendors charge per user, making costs skyrocket as your team grows. At Nationwide Payment Systems, our pricing is designed to scale without per-user fees—so your whole team can access the platform without financial strain.

  5. Ease of Use for Staff

The right payment software should work for your staff, not against them. Our platforms are designed to minimize training time, with:
