As we gear up for the 1:00 PM Eastern, January 21st, meeting of the Impact Cherub Club, we invite you to join us. The club meets to review impact investments everyone is eligible to make, and virtually anyone can afford. We share responsibility for completing basic due diligence before making investments. While members are encouraged to invest in the Club’s picks, no one is required to invest.

The Club is open to all “Impact Members” of the SuperCrowd (our paying subscribers). I don’t touch the Money members invest. They do so directly for their own accounts. We benefit from new members by the fresh perspectives they bring and our growing social impact. Please join us!

Next Meeting—January 21st, at 1:00 PM Eastern

At our next meeting on January 21st, at 1:00 PM Eastern/10:00 AM Pacific, consistent with our plans for future sessions, the agenda will have three items:

  • Diligence Reports

  • Education Moment

  • Preliminary Consideration of New Candidate Investments

I’ll review those items in reverse order.

New Company Consideration

After some preliminary screening, I’ve shared some candidate offerings with the members of the club to choose which we’ll review this month. Members chose the following:

Windmill Market EV Hub

Image Preview

The Windmill Market EV Hub, developed by Mynt Systems, aims to establish a state-of-the-art electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging hub in San Juan Bautista, California. Strategically located along Highway 156, the project addresses a critical need for EV infrastructure between Silicon Valley and the Central Valley. This hub will feature six high-speed DC chargers, enabling drivers to recharge while accessing nearby amenities and exploring the historic city. In alignment with San Juan Bautista’s clean energy goals, the project anticipates reducing carbon emissions by 6,850 tons annually, equivalent to displacing 700,000 gallons of gasoline, while supporting California’s decarbonization efforts. The company is raising on Climatize.

NeighBR

The NeighBR project is a community-focused platform aimed at strengthening neighborhood connections by providing digital tools to facilitate resource sharing, communication, and mutual support among residents. The initiative emphasizes fostering resilient communities through Technology, encouraging collaboration and inclusivity. By leveraging its platform, NeighBR seeks to address social isolation, enhance local resource efficiency, and empower neighborhoods to collectively tackle challenges. The capital raised will be used to expand platform features, grow user engagement, and scale operations to reach more communities, driving both social impact and technological Innovation in neighborhood development. NeighBR is raising on FundingHope.

Education Moment

We’ll continue our review of the performance of the Impact Cherub Club portfolio. We already see evidence that our club is getting better at selecting companies with impact and profit potential. We’re hoping to learn from some of our early mistakes, too.

Diligence Reports

We’ll begin with the due diligence reports from the Impact Cherub Club members who volunteered to research the companies after we briefly learned a bit about them last month. After hearing the members’ reports, we’ll vote to determine whether or not to recommend investment in the companies. The decision will be made available to all Impact Cherub Club members, including those who don’t attend this month. Register here.

Capital Good Fund (Heat Pumps for New England)

Project Image

The “Heat Pumps for New England” initiative, led by the nonprofit Capital Good Fund, seeks to raise $500,000 to provide interest-free loans for energy-efficient upgrades—such as heat pumps, insulation, and ductwork—to low- and moderate-income households in underserved New England communities. With a 13-year track record of issuing 1,341 loans totaling $18.64 million and maintaining a 99.51% repayment rate, Capital Good Fund aims to promote financial inclusion and environmental sustainability. The current offering, hosted by Climatize Earth Securities, LLC via Regulation Crowdfunding, offers a 6.5% annual interest rate over a five-year term.

Zero Carbon Inc.

Zero Carbon Inc. is conducting a Regulation Crowdfunding campaign on Wefunder to advance its waste-to-energy technology, which converts various waste materials—including municipal solid waste, sewage sludge, and agricultural residues—into clean hydrogen energy, methane, and power, with biochar as a byproduct. The company has completed a project for the Paris Olympics, turning sewage sludge into clean energy, and has over 17 years of research with four patents pending. The current investment terms include a Future Equity Agreement (SAFE) with a $50 million valuation cap, offering early investors a 25% discount.
