Using video & content in your business

  1. Using video & content in your business Jennifer R Glass 41:50

How are you getting your message out to your ideal clients? Are you developing content and videos to connect with your avatars so they get to know you better?

Are you the face of your brand or are you answering problems that your consumers/clients are looking for in a way that allows you to connect with your avatars? As my guest, Michael Kawula says, having a jeweler using videos all about engagement rings, as an example, with a “this video is sponsored by X Jewelers” so people searching for “how to buy an engagement ring” or “how to propose to your girlfriend/partner” are being answered by this jeweler instead of searching for the jeweler’s videos, because, let’s face it, nobody is searching out their videos necessarily, but are looking for ways to buy a ring!

Do you need ideas on what to look for to talk about as part of your content strategy? Google some of your competition and see what they’re discussing, or use sites like similarweb.com; answerthepublic; buzzsumo, etc.

And don’t worry about the length of the videos/posts that you put out – as Michael says, the length should be long enough to answer the point you want to make but not too long that it bores your audience. If you can answer a question in one paragraph – orally or in writing – that is perfect. If it takes you 2-3 minutes or 3 pages of written content to answer a concern, that is perfect too!
