Ep. 407 w/ Jay Giraud Founder & CEO of Damon Motorcyles

  1. Ep. 407 w/ Jay Giraud Founder & CEO of Damon Motorcyles 50:41

Damon is a disruptive Technology start-up based in Vancouver, Canada focused on the forgotten category of 1.5 billion Vulnerable Road Users.

Our mission is to cause a paradigm shift for safer, smarter motorcycling.
Starting with a completely blank slate, we reverse engineered the problems motorcyclists face and built what 160 million annual buyers want and need: a game changing riding experience that’s exponentially safer, smarter and more user-friendly. With it Damon will redefine the industry.

We put data-driven thinking at the epicentre of the company, employing radical innovations in sensor fusion, robotics and AI. Damon expands the reach of your senses in 360Âş to protect you from accidents, providing that one extra second you need to react. These same sensors collect rider, traffic and vehicle data and sends it to our cloud for industry-wide data consumption. Our system learns from every rider, every intersection and every situation. The goal is a self-learning technology platform that will usher in a world with no fatal accidents on Damonized vehicles by 2030.

My design and development projects have won critical acclaim and were featured by media outlets like USA Today, Bloomberg, Fortune, Apple Insider & Hit Parader magazine.

I continue to champion superior user experiences and maintain a relentless focus on achieving my goals in all of my ventures. I have been a contributor to the open-source community on FOLIO, and I co-host a monthly tech meetup in my hometown of Edmonton called Nerds Night Out.
