925- Karl Maier Bio Thirty Years Growing Lower Middle-Market Companies Karl K. Maier is the founder of Abunden and the creator of the comprehensive Abunden Framework© business operating system for growing smaller companies. He also designed the Abunden Management Toolbox software. Karl began working as a manager or consultant to companies ranging from startups to 100 people in 1991. Since that time, he has been part of the leadership team in five established companies that have at least doubled sales in two years. Leveraging his background as a business analyst, Karl co-founded three software companies. This experience has expanded his sales and marketing background as well as his management, operations and Finance experience Karl also had a strong background in a range of financial areas including debt and equity financing, Mergers & Acquisitions (transactions up to $40 million), business valuations, accounting and turnarounds. He has served as a CFO for several companies as well. The broad base of business knowledge and experience which Karl has amassed over the past thirty-plus years has helped him advise CEOs from a board-level perspective. Karl received both his MBA and B.A. from Rice University in Houston. He has been active in a number leadership positions in not-for-profit organizations over the past 25 years.
