Song of the Day You Must Hear: "Molly Mayhem" by Seattle based singer/songwriter, Joseph the Worker.
This track gave me many Elliott Smith vibes (artist on soundtrack to film Good Will Hunting).
I just picture looking out onto Puget Sound while listening to his songs.
"Molly Mayhem" falls somewhere between indie-rock and acoustic shoegaze (a la Slowdive’s song "Dagger"). It includes acoustic guitar, drums, bass, and
synth which helps bring out the frozen lakefront vibes on the cover art.
The idea for Molly Mayhem came from a lyric in the "Alvvays" song ‘Hey’ (Molly Mayhem on your doorstep at 3AM..).
Joseph the Worker’s song tells a story of imagining being on the other side of the door, to a kind of erratic/bordering on obsessive character (but one that’s also loved by / Trauma bonded with the narrator).
The name/character was a useful device / stand-in to write about past experiences in his real life.

It all started when…
I had this idea to share my thoughts and experiences on some of the greatest music albums out there. I wanted to write album reviews that were different from any other album reviews sites. I want to invoke passion in the reader. I want them to either agree, disagree, or be curious enough to have a new experience.
Unlike other music review websites, which are objective, I feel the best music review sites tell a story, not only about the album but about the person reviewing the album and how it influenced them.
Music is the greatest thing on this planet. It can heal the most broken heart. It can give confidence to those in need and it can bring us all closer together to one common goal.
