- Coronavirus and Our Elders Phyllis Ayman, MS/SLP, CDP, CADDCT, CDCM, CMDCP 55:38
The Coronavirus, has impacted people of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds around the world. Our elder citizens, and especially those who suffer from heart, lung, or immunodeficiency syndromes, smokers and persons with Diabetes are at greater risk.
As a result of the pandemic, and now an official US national health emergency, there is much confusion, some conflicting information, Stress and fear not only in our country, but because of the global threat the virus presents
Voices for Eldercare Advocacy wants to provide information and support our listeners in an effort to helping them understand how to keep themselves and their loved ones safe.
We of course encourage our listeners to take care not only of themselves physically, and to be mindful of their movements and surroundings, but also to care for their emotional, psychological and social wellbeing.
Most importantly, at this difficult time we will hopefully become more aware that we are part of a larger community.
