1. Living with Alzheimer’s: A Caregiver's Journey with Carlen Maddux Dr. Ron Kaiser 42:39

We’ve all gone through trials and tribulations in life, some worse than others. Strife can present in all shapes and forms and sometimes it can be difficult to cope with. So what can we do in these situations? How can we make the best of what we have and find ways to carry on during traumatic events?

This episode’s guest, Carlen Maddux, is a journalist, author, and blogger. His wife, Martha, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease when she was just 50 years old. At the time, less than one percent of individuals diagnosed with the disease were under the age of sixty-five. Carlen was left wondering – why Martha?

In this episode, Carlen speaks about Martha’s journey with Alzheimer’s, from the time of her initial diagnosis, and how they made the best of living with it on a day-to-day basis.
