Renée Harmon, MD, resides in Birmingham, Alabama, where she has recently retired from a twenty-nine-year career in family medicine. She and her husband, Harvey, shared responsibilities at their medical practice, and at their home with two daughters until Alzheimer’s disease forced his Retirement.

Dr. Harmon is the author of Surfing the Waves of Alzheimer’s: Principles of Caregiving That Kept Me Upright, a memoir about her husband’s time with younger-onset Alzheimer’s disease. She is also a sought-after speaker, serves as a community educator for the Alzheimer’s Association, and is a board member of Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama.
