- How to Build Your Caregiving Team Kim Hegwood 19:18
“I’m a physician and I know how to take care of things all by myself and yes, I had a hard time asking for help because I didn’t think I needed help. I thought I could do it all by myself because I’m a strong person, but I did learn eventually to accept help. Right?”
Today, Kim Hegwood and Dr. Renee Harmon will discuss why it is so important to have a caregiving team. Dr. Harmon will talk from her own experiences caring for her husband with early-onset dementia.
1. Why is it important to have a team?
2. Why is it hard to ask for help?
3. Who should absolutely be on your team?
4. Who doesn’t need to be on your team?
5. Give us some examples of unexpected team members.
6. How should you ask for help?
