The BlackDog Community with Sam

  1. The BlackDog Community with Sam HomeFront Sitrep 1:14:31

I was adopted oldest of 2 in my adopted family and oldest of my side of the family my brother and sister, spent 8 years in the Army National Guard, 12 state active duty missions, 1 deployment

I almost became part of Mission 22, attempted twice after my second time my buddy who is part of Mission 22 sent me a video and in the video it was from Grunt Style called “The Spartan Pledge” and it says “I will not take my own life by my own hand until I talk to my battle buddy first, my Mission is to find a Mission to help my warfighter family” that and them talking about their PTSD and deployments and trama helped me realized I need to find my Mission and Purpose and after helping 2 vets in a row be here I called out to God and said “I hear yea” and last year in December a friend of mine in Australia wanted to give me a platform to talk about my teams in a safe place and she made Blackdog on Discord and unfortunately she went down the path of researching PTSD and trama from those of us who have seen War and she got a small case of PTSD and she couldn’t handle it so in January she handed over everything that had to do with BlackDog and unfortunately I wasn’t able to do much with it because I was in the middle of a horrible emotional domestic abuse relationship but on Veterans Day 2024 I put that aside and did a 24 mile ruck march to help raise awareness of Veteran and First Responder suicide, did it in 7 hours and now out of that relationship and I’ve been pushing hard on 2025 event on Veterans Day and im in a better mindset and relationship

David Willis HomeFront Sitrep Podcast

My name is David Willis, I knew at a very early age that I was going into the military but didn’t know what branch. As I got older and started learning about each branch and quickly figured out that the Marines was the best. I served in the Marine Corps from 97-04. My MOS was 0311(infantry). I went to Paris Island for boot camp after boot camp I was stationed with 2nd blt 8th Marines Golf company. While with 2/8 I went on several deployments to port a prince Haiti, Okinawa, South Korea, Greece, also did two trips to Bridgeport California for cold weather training, I wasn’t going to make a Mediterranean float so I extended and joined 1st blt 8th Marines Bravo company. During my time there we deployed to the Mediterranean and had stops in Spain, Italy, Malta, Africa, and other ports. I got out of the Marines in August of 01, but 9/11 happened and was recalled to go back in where I was stationed with a mobilization support battalion and deployed.
