587: Why You Must Step Out of Your Comfort Zone
The Peak Performance System for High Achievers [FREE]: https://jeffheggie.com/peakperformance
One of my Mindset Questions that I ask myself each day is, “What am I going to do today that will force me to step outside of my comfort zone?”
Why is this important?
Every time that we step out of our comfort zone, our comfort zone gets larger.
Your confidence multiplies if you are stepping out of your comfort zone on a daily basis.
Ed Mylett said, “We often create processes to avoid inconvenience and conflict. When we do this, we’re steering ourselves toward a life that already exists.”
If we want to create a better life, do great things and achieve big goals, we’ve got to step out of our comfort zone to do it.
If we avoid stepping out of our comfort zone, “we’re steering ourselves toward a life that already exists.”

“Greatness and convenience cannot co-exist
Many of the great things you want in life will be inconvenient from start to finish
Inconveniences are the challenges you must overcome to have a shot at accomplishing anything significant
Paying the price of inconvenience is no guarantee you’ll succeed. But if you don’t inconvenience yourself and confront the difficult things in front of you, you’ll have no chance at ending up where you want to be in life.
Start by doing difficult and inconvenient things first
When you decide to do something great with your life, get ready. You’re going to be controversial. Controversy is inconvenient. Inconvenience ruffles feathers.
Going with the flow, kicking back, and chilling means you’ll never take any heat. You’ll never be uncomfortable. You’ll never be inconvenienced. But you’ll also never do anything great either.
Your biggest dreams never materialize if you gravitate toward convenience.
We often create processes to avoid inconvenience and conflict. When we do this, we’re steering ourselves toward a life that already exists.”
