I did it rain or shine, cold and hot – did it when I felt like it and when I did not πŸ˜‚

I started walking on 2/28 and determined I would walk 4 miles a day for 59 days straight – no breaks and no excuses and today was day 59, 4/27. Phase 1 complete with lessons learned.

I thought I could lose 20 pounds but fell short of the goal. I did learn a lot about my body and metabolism that has changed over the last few years. It takes more than consistent steady walking to drop weight without changing my diet as well. I made some changes but not enough to make a bigger difference.

I know Moving forward I will definitely plan rest days. This challenge was a line in the sand for me to not make excuses and to push through something I knew would be hard. And I made it almost 250 miles without a day of rest.

Now, I’m going to enjoy a nice 3 day break of not walking and resting my tired body and get onto Phase 2 starting Monday, 5/1.
