Carrie Colbert’s journey from being the first in her family to attend college with a degree in petroleum engineering to a successful entrepreneur is truly inspiring. With over twenty years in the oil and gas industry, including a significant tenure at Hilcorp, she developed a robust understanding of business dynamics. Transitioning to entrepreneurship and social media influencing, Carrie sought to create a broader impact beyond traditional corporate roles.

Her founding of Curate Capital represents a pivotal moment in her career, focusing on Investing in women-owned businesses. With an impressive $15 million raised for her venture capital fund—80% of which comes from female investors—Carrie is committed to reshaping the investment landscape. 

She addresses the unique challenges women face in securing capital and emphasizes the importance of aligning with investors who share similar missions and values. Through her work, Carrie Colbert exemplifies the power of community and support in fostering an equitable and impactful entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Anika Jackson Creative Strategist, Podcaster

Anika is a mother, community volunteer, philanthropist, marketing and communications strategist and podcast host. As a marcom executive, she has done it all including experiential marketing/ event production, launch marketing, public relations, digital, and influencer throughout her multiple decade career.

She is a member of the Quickbooks Small Business Council, as well as on the Advisory Board for the Women in Leadership program for UCSB’s PaCE; advisor for Junior League of Los Angeles’ 2022 – 2023 President; Co-founder and board member of Learn Grow Lead; and Ballona Wetlands Philanthropy Chair for National Charity League’s Pier Chapter.

In Anika’s newest role, she is an adjunct professor at USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, teaching graduate students in both the Masters of Public Relations and Advertising as well as the Masters of Digital Media Management programs.
